Astronauts Provide Insight at Workshop on Challenges of Mars Missions

Media are invited to attend speaker sessions at the 2015 Human Research Program Investigators’ Workshop and the Behavioral Health and Performance Element Working Group, where NASA astronauts Stan Love, Peggy Whitson and Christina Hammock will participate. 

Future astronaut crews will have little room in which to live and work for the three years it will take to journey to Mars, explore its surface and return home safely to Earth. NASA scientists and astronauts will be available to discuss the orbital mechanics of a flight to Mars, and provide insight on behavioral health and performance risks associated with long duration flights for future space exploration.
