Arianespace signs contract with RUAG Aerospace Sweden for Ariane 5 payload adapters

At the 48th Paris Air Show today, Jean-Yves Le Gall, Chairman and CEO of Arianespace, and Peter Scherrer, Director of the Space Business Unit of RUAG Aerospace, signed the contract for a series of payload adapters that will be used on the 35 Ariane 5 launchers in the upcoming PB batch ordered by Arianespace.

Arianespace and RUAG Aerospace have worked together since the beginning of the Ariane program, and RUAG Aerospace already supplied the satellite separation system on the Ariane 1 launcher.

Commenting on this contract, Arianespace Chairman and CEO Jean-Yves Le Gall said: “Since the very first Ariane launches, the equipment provided by RUAG Aerospace Sweden has played a critical role in orbiting hundreds of satellites. For all of our customers, the quality and reliability of RUAG adapters are synonymous with excellence.”
