SOHO Guest Investigator Programme

On 26 January 2001, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have announced a SOHO and
Sun-Earth Connection Guest Investigator (GI) Programme, respectively,
inviting the worldwide solar physics community to participate in the
acquisition and analysis of SOHO data (ESA-SCI(2001)1 and NRA 01-OSS-01).

Details of the programme can be found on the Internet at

http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/operations/guest_investigators

Letters of Intent are requested before 23 February 2001.
Due date for proposals is 20 April 2001.

We would like to encourage all solar scientists to make use of this
opportunity. In the U.S. it is the only means by which funding may be
obtained for SOHO-related research, in other countries it may help them
to raise funding from their national science funding agencies.

Finally, we would like to bring to your attention that at any time there
is the possibility to collaborate/participate in an “ad hoc” manner by
contacting the SOHO Principal Investigators. Their addresses can be
found on the SOHO home page at http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov.
Otherwise, you are welcome to contact the ESA and NASA SOHO Project
Scientists.
