Allocade, Inc., the developer of innovative healthcare software technology solutions, today announced that it would participate in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Spinoff Day on the Hill.

When: May 20, 2010, at the Rayburn House Office Building, room 2325, from 11:00 until 3:00.

What: Members of Congress and the NASA administrator, Charlie Bolden, will speak about the importance of bringing NASA technologies out into the public sector. In addition, NASA’s new chief technologist, Dr. Bobby Braun and NASA’s director of the Innovative Partnerships Program, Doug Comstock, will highlight the selected participating companies.

Background Information:

Allocade’s On-Cue(TM) solution was featured in the 2009 issue of NASA Spinoff, an annual premier publication featuring successfully commercialized NASA technology. Allocade’s On-Cue utilizes an Artificial Intelligence Engine to create a dynamic patient itinerary, offering hospitals an efficient clinical operating solution that helps caregivers to effectively manage patient flow and logistics. As a result, hospitals realize a significant return on investment.

Don Rosenthal, Allocade’s founder and CTO, led the Artificial Intelligence Applications Group at NASA Ames Research Center, where he helped design the Hubble Space Telescope’s scheduling software that managed various time-sensitive tasks for the telescope. The underlying On-Cue engine is the result of Rosenthal’s work. The On-Cue solution leverages the information already available in Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR) to effectively address patient flow management throughout the hospital enterprise.

Allocade, Inc. was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Menlo Park, Calif. The company is a healthcare software technology company that develops solutions designed to effectively optimize patient flow throughout the hospital enterprise. Allocade’s first product is the On-Cue(TM) software solution. The company’s management team includes former top executives from the NASA Ames Research Center, Siemens Medical Systems, Philips Medical Systems, Winster, Acuson Corporation, Sierra OnLine, Stentor and Inzap. Allocade is venture backed by VantagePoint Venture Partners. For more information, visit www.allocade.com.
