Allocade, Inc., a developer of innovative healthcare software solutions, today announced that its product On-Cue(TM) has been featured in the recently published 2009 Issue of NASA Spinoff, an annual premier publication featuring successfully commercialized NASA technology (http://www.sti.nasa.gov/tto/Spinoff2009). The On-Cue system utilizes artificial intelligence to create a dynamic patient itinerary, offering hospitals an efficient operating system that helps caregivers to effectively manage patient flow and logistics.

Allocade’s Founder and CTO, who led the Artificial Intelligence Applications Group at NASA Ames Research Center, was responsible for the dynamic rescheduling software that optimally utilized the limited resources on the Hubble Space Telescope. The On-Cue software leverages the information already available in Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR) to effectively address patient flow management throughout the hospital enterprise, while accommodating the continuous disruptions that occur hourly.

“It is exciting to see the On-Cue software solution featured in the prestigious NASA Spinoff book,” said Rick Smith, president and CEO, Allocade, Inc. “The On-Cue system is rapidly being adopted by medical centers throughout the United States because the benefits of the system are immediate. Once the On-Cue system is installed, it is able to minimize the impact of unpredictable disruptions in scheduling across the hospital by streamlining coordination and communications amongst all caregivers, resulting in cost savings and improved patient experience.”
