Aegis Aerospace Inc. (Aegis, pronounced ējis) will make its debut at the 36th
National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Co. on Aug. 23-26, 2021. The newly
formed organization was created through the merger of commercial space company Alpha
Space Test and Research Alliance (Alpha Space) and technology/defense company MEI
Technologies, Inc. (MEIT). Standing on 30 years of success and innovation, Aegis offers
an innovative, broad range of cutting-edge commercial space services, technology and
engineering services, space system development services, and related products to
customers in the space and defense industries.

“The creation of Aegis Aerospace Inc. underscores the aerospace industry’s current
evolution as federal and commercial space converge and change in exciting and dynamic
ways,” said businesswoman and entrepreneur Stephanie Muñiz Murphy, who is the
principal owner and Executive Chair of the Board of the newly formed company. “The
National Space Symposium is the perfect place to debut Aegis. We look forward to this
amazing opportunity to personally introduce our expanded capabilities to our customers
and other esteemed peers.”

Murphy announced the merger in July, and that Mark Gittleman, who served as CEO of
Alpha Space since March 2018, will become President & CEO of Aegis. Gittleman brings
more than 30 years’ experience in the space industry.

“The federal and commercial space industries have been growing and changing fast, and
Aegis is uniquely positioned to work with our customers through these transitions as they
evolve,” Gittleman said. “We’re looking forward to using the Space Symposium as an
opportunity to dig deeper with customers on how our new capabilities can help them solve
their toughest problems, from engineering services through technology development,
testing in space, and much more.”

The new organization’s brand identity includes a logo depicting an aegis (shield) showing
the blue of the earth, symbolizing the planet we call home and must protect, and the red
of mars, symbolizing space exploration. The logo is created from the logo colors of the
two heritage companies, all coming together seamlessly, which represents the seamless
interaction between Aegis Aerospace and its customers, employees, and other
stakeholders.

Murphy and Gittleman will be at the Space Symposium and are available to meet with
customers and media.
