Additional Speakers Announced for International Space Symposium

Washington, DC (August 1, 2000) – A number of
new speakers have been added to the
International Space Symposium program, as
announced today by Space Foundation officials.
The Space Foundation is conducting the Symposium
October 24-26, 2000 at the Reagan International
Trade Center in Washington, DC.

The event focuses on business aspects of the
$100 billion (US) global space industry. Latest
speaker additions include:

Featured Symposium keynote speakers include
Antonio Rodota, Director General, European Space
Agency (ESA); Vance Coffman, Chairman and CEO,
Lockheed Martin Corporation and Yasuo Otaki,
President, Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications
Council (APSCC) and President, TELEC-Japan.

Dr. Michael Hawley, Dreyfoos Professor of Media
Technology, MIT Media Lab is the featured
speaker at the Future Focus Luncheon scheduled
for Oct. 25. Hugh Downs, veteran ABC News
personality and Chairman of the Board of
Governors of the National Space Society (NSS),
is Master of Ceremonies for the luncheon.

The international symposium is being conducted
by the Space Foundation in association with the
American Astronautical Society. Leading space
agencies, organizations and companies from
around the world are joining the Space
Foundation in supporting and sponsoring the
Symposium. The Foundation also conducts the
acclaimed National Space Symposium annually in
Colorado Springs.
