22nd National Space Symposium to address civil and national security space challenges

The National Space Symposium, conducted by the Space Foundation, is widely recognized as the premier annual space industry conference and the preferred venue for all sectors of the global space industry – civil, commercial, and national security – to come together. A special panel, “Top Talent – Bringing the Best to Bear to Meet the Nation’s Civil and National Security Space Challenges,” will discuss the critical role federally funded research and development, national laboratories, and university affiliated research centers play in our nation’s space endeavors. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 5 at 3:45 p.m. The 22nd National Space Symposium takes place April 3-6 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.

The top talent panel features Dr. William Ballhaus, Jr., president and chief executive officer, The Aerospace Corporation; Dr. David L. Briggs, director, Lincoln Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Dr. Jerry Krill, assistant director, Applied Physics Laboratory, The John Hopkins University; Maj Gen Michael D. Pavich, USAF (Retired), director, Space Dynamics Laboratory, Utah State University Research Foundation; Dr. Alton D. Romig, Jr., deputy director for Integrated Technology Programs, Sandia National Laboratories; and Lt Gen Eugene L. Tattini, USAF (Retired), deputy director, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA). Brig Gen Duane W. Deal, USAF (Retired), director of National Security Space Programs, Applied Physics Laboratory at The Johns Hopkins University, will moderate.
