21 States and Canada to be represented at Space in the Classroom Conference

12 educators from 21 states and Canada, nearly
30 presenters and six guest speakers will make
up the 350 registrants expected at the upcoming
Space in the Classroom (SITC) educator
conference, which takes place February 22-24,
2001 at the USAFA in Colorado Springs, Colo.

SITC is presented by the Space Foundation and
hosted by the United States Air Force Academy
(USAFA), in partnership with NASA and the
Aerospace States Association (ASA). Corporate
underwriters include Estes, Lockheed Martin,
Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Well’s Fargo, and
AXA Space.

Conference registrants will experience two-and-
one-half days of hands-on continuing education
training, including a half-day of optional
tours, and learn how the excitement of space–
and NASA’s five Strategic Enterprises–can
motivate and inspire students. NASA’s five
enterprises include Human Exploration and
Development of Space, Earth Science, Aerospace
Technology, Space Science and Biological and
Physical Research.

Conference attendees can earn two graduate
credits from the University of Colorado at
Colorado Springs (CU-the Springs).
