This month, as with every September, more than 1,000 executives from the satcom industry converged on the Westin Vendôme in the center of Paris for the World Satellite Business Week (WSBW), organized by Euroconsult. As is the case every year, the conference had far too many CEO-level panels to distill into just one article, but a few major trends and themes nonetheless stood out:

1) The future of the satcom industry is multi-orbit,

2) China is once again open for business, and

3) Europe is playing catch-up to the US, and even to some extent to China.
