There is less then one week to go before the 2009 NASA sponsored Power Beaming Centennial Challenge, AKA the Space Elevator Games, with up to $2,000,000 in prize money gets underway.
While hoping to have four competing teams, the Spaceward Foundation reports that the National Space Society team ran out of time and money to qualify for this years challenge.

That leaves three teams in the competition; The Kansas City Space Pirates, LaserMotive of Seattle, and the University of Saskatchewan Space Team (USST).

We anticipate full coverage of the games through Spaceward’s live coverage center. Stay tuned!
