Utah’s Great Salt Lake Seen From Orbit
Utah’s Great Salt Lake is pictured as the International Space Station orbited 255 miles above the southwestern United States.
The distinct color differences in the lake is caused by a railroad causeway. The northern part of the lake (pointing right in this frame) has a much higher salinity than the southern freshwater portion of the lake.
