A cold front sweeping deep into the Southern U.S. is bringing freezing temperatures to large parts of the country.
This image from the High Resolution Rapid Refresh model shows the minimum surface air temperature expected from November 13th through midnight EST on the 14th. Areas shaded blue are at or below freezing. The National Weather Service has issued freeze warnings for an area that stretches from eastern Texas to Georgia. This cold snap is expected to bring an end to the growing season for much of the Gulf region.
