See all the Brazilian World Cup Stadiums from Space
With just over two weeks before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil starts Airbus Defence and Space has released a set of images that show the constructions and upgrades to the 12 stadiums across Brazil hosting matches.
The images were captured by the twin Pléiades satellites. The image above shows the construction of the Arena de Sao Paulo as it neared completion. The image below shows the construction progress two years ago. Images of the other stadiums are available here.
According to Airbus Defence and Space, their satellite imagery is consistently used for planning infrastructure development. Their civil engineering customers have access to the twin satellites Pléiades 1A and Pléiades 1B which provides high-resolution optical data products in a timely fashion and offer daily revisit capability to any point on the globe.
