Mars Express Status Report – 26 December 09:00 CET
ESOC Mission Control is monitoring the Mars Express orbiter as it circles the Red Planet. Mission controllers are preparing for the next major manoeuvre.
On 30 December, the main engine will be fired again to move Mars Express out of an equatorial orbit into a polar orbit around Mars.
After this comes a series of manoeuvres to reduce the size of the spacecraft’s orbit to its nominal mission value.
