SATOPS Morning Report – March 5, 2003
Day 064
DMSP
OPS48 rev 30519 R+10 from FBKS-B at 1815Z on March 4: SCCR 48-100 executed to reset *BATSTAT on both SCPs.
Controllers uplinked new (SGYRO) flight software to OPS49 SCP 1 this morning on rev 16671. On rev 16672, they dumped SCP 1, brought SCP 1 back online, set SCP 1 time and marked SCP 1 as OK. Later today, the plan is to load the software package ID onto the SCP (for configuration management purposes).
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
POES
POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
GOES
At 1434Z on March 4, a GOES-8 frame break was observed and attributed to loss of signal synchronization.
At 1709Z on March 4, a GOES-8 image was missed due to loss of telemetry during a solar RFI period.
At 2136Z on March 4, multiple GOES-10 frame breaks were observed and attributed to solar RFI (seasonal). No images were missed.
Eclipse operations for all spacecraft continue. Eclipse schedules for GOES-8 and GOES-10 (which can be used to track the day-to-day image deletions due to KOZ and eclipse) can be found at:
http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/koz-eclipse/koz-eclipse.htm
GOES-12 remains in a test phase, in normal on-orbit mode, drifting at an eastward rate of ~0.33 degrees per day toward the GOES-East position where it will replace GOES-8 in April. Routine SXI imaging is proceeding along with SXI test exposures.
GOES-9 is currently at approximately 167.6 W drifting at a westward rate of ~0.75 degrees per day toward 155 E longitude where it will support the GMS-5 replacement mission in April.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
