SATOPS Morning Report February 10, 2003
DMSP
On February 8 at approximately 22:30z, DMSP engineering was notified that an OPS48 battery pack temperature delta of greater than 6 degrees was observed. Engineering came in to investigate and found out that between 0600z and 2400z on February 8, that Bat 2 Pack A temp increased about 2.25 degrees. No action was taken at the time and crews were informed of the condition and advised to monitor. The OPS48 batteries are currently commanded to a trickle charge rate (via BATMN) due to minimal discharging. Engineers are reviewing options to reduce solar input to the Battery Pack to help bring the temperature down. An SCCR has been drafted to accomplish this if needed.
