Calendar Date: 01/29/03

Increment: 6

Stage: 11A

Week 9

Payloads currently on-board ISS:
BSTC, CGBA, CSLM-2, InSPACE, MAMS, MSG (facility), PFMI, SAMS, STES-10,
SUBSA and ZCG.

Status:
MRPO payloads MAMS, SAMS and STES-10 continue nominal, basically unattended,
operations. BSTC, CGBA, CSLM-2, InSpace, PFMI, SUBSA and ZCG are inactive.
MSG is inactive/failed, awaiting replacement parts. MSG replacement
parts have been stowed in Progress 10, currently scheduled for launch
on February 2nd. A plan has been developed to maximize payload operations
after MSG operational capability is restored.

EXPRESS RACKS 1 and 4 (ER1 & ER4) are powered and supporting payload
operations. ER2 has been powered down since it on longer has an active
payload to support. ER3 and ER5 are available to support payload operations
but are currently inactive. ER1, ER3, ER4 and ER5 software upgrades have
been accomplished. ER2 software upgrade is planned for week 11.

MAMS is operating nominally in the quasi-steady mode. HiRAP is currently
inactive. MAMS data is available on the acceleration measurement web
page.

All SAMS sensors in EXPRESS RACKS are operating nominally. The SAMS
sensor in the MSG is currently turned-off. SAMS data is also available
on the acceleration measurement web page.

STES-10 health and status data is nominal. STES-10 is configured with
diffusion-controlled chambers that require no crew operation activities.

Near-term Outlook:

Week 9 (1/27-2/2) – Planning for this week was based on approximately
12 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations. ARIS
3 check-out/calibration is scheduled daily during this week. The crew
is packing as many disposable items on Progress 9 as possible. Progress
9 is scheduled to undock on 2/1. Progress 10 launch is scheduled for
2/2.

Week 10 (2/3-2/9) – Preliminary planning for this week is being based
on approximately 24 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload
operations. Progress 10 is scheduled to dock with the ISS on 2/4. Transfer
operations to off-load Progress 10 will begin immediately after docking.
The MSG repair parts will be transferred as soon as possible and installed
on the MSG. PFMI hardware, and the partially processed PFMI sample, will
be recovered and stowed. MSG will be checked-out and, assuming all is
well, InSpace will be installed, checked out and test runs are to be
conducted.
