ISS On-orbit Status 14 Dec 2002
ISS

All ISS systems continue to function nominally, except as noted previously or below.

The ISS crew has a typical Saturday off-duty day today, with only a few activities scheduled.

At wake-up at the regular 1:00 am EST, followed by the usual post-sleep activities, the crew was congratulated on a nice job on the successful completion of yesterday?s IFM activities of Vozdukh restart, RED realignment and VAJ jumper installation (“ranking right up there with Tim ?the Toolman? Taylor”).

Then it was time again for the crew to perform the weekly 3-hr. station cleanup.  [The house cleaning focuses on removal of food waste products, cleaning of compartments with vacuum cleaner, wet cleaning of surfaces with disinfectants and cleaning of fan screens to avoid temperature rises. Today’s “wet” portion of the ?uborka? (clean-up) included treatment of the SM dining table surface and the Node/PMA-1 hatch with “Fungistat” disinfectant.]

FE-1 Nikolai Budarin performed the regular weekly inspection of the BRPK-1 water condensate separator unit.

CDR Kenneth Bowersox terminated the regeneration process on the Metox (metal oxide) canisters in the Airlock, started yesterday.

FE-2/SO Don Pettit completed the daily routine task of SOSh life support systems maintenance.

All crewmembers worked out on TVIS, CEVIS, RED and VELO with load trainer, completing their daily physical exercise program.

Instructions were uplinked for Monday’s (12/16) IWIS (internal wireless instrumentation system) data take.  [The IWIS gathers structural dynamics data.]
