The spacecraft is in nominal mode. All instruments are in Science Mode.

Planning continues for execution of the final burn in the series of six
Inclination Adjust Maneuvers for Terra. This will place the descending node
slightly later than 10:31 a.m. (local time) equatorial crossing, and sustain the
desired orbital relationship with SAC-C. The maneuver is planned for September
25.

Preliminary planning continues for the Terra Deep Space and Lunar Calibration
Maneuvers, tentatively scheduled for December 2002.

Terra Flight Operations Team personnel continue to work with the prototype Solid
State Recorder Playback Automation Tool. This tool has the potential to simplify
the current scheduling process by accommodating special events such as Tracking
and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) schedule changes or missed playbacks.

A Command Authorization Meeting was held on September 11 on the proposed MODIS
Formatter swap from A-side to B-side. No major issues were raised and the date
for the switch is anticipated to be set within the next several weeks.

A Drag Make-up Maneuver was executed on August 7.

TERRA PLANS:

  • The final Inclination Adjust Maneuver is planned for September 25.
  • The next MODIS lunar calibration roll maneuver is scheduled for September 26.
