REMINDER: DEADLINE FRIDAY JUNE 7
COMMUNITY INFORMATION SOUGHT ON NASA GRANT NOTIFICATIONS AND AWARDS

In an open letter to the DPS community last February, Guenter Riegler
explained how September 11 events caused a delay in NASA grant
notifications that would be completed by early March. While
indications are that all notifications were sent on this timescale,
there remain some reports of significant delays in grant awards being
delivered to P.I. institutions.

The DPS committee seeks information from the community on the
timeliness of this year’s grant notifications and awards (taking into
account September 11 delays). Brief accounts of difficulties
encountered will help the DPS convey the current situation to the NASA
leadership. Equally vital are positive accounts of improvements in the
management and performance of the grants programs relative to the
difficulties experienced one year ago.

PLEASE SEND YOUR RESPONSES BY JUNE 7 TO: dpspub@protostar.aas.org
