Philippe Perrin, an astronaut of the French Space Agency CNES, will lift off to the International Space Station as of 31 May from Cape Canaveral. After ESA’s Umberto Guidoni, Perrin is the second European to participate in an ISS assembly mission.

For his first flight, the French astronaut will carry out three space walks to install equipment necessary to the continuation of the assembly of the Station and also replace a joint on the Canadian arm.

The STS-111 mission will also carry scientific instruments to the ISS, among them the ESA-developed Microgravity Sciences Glovebox.

This transmission on the preparation of Philippe Perrin on his mission has been produced by the French Space Agency CNES, and carries a French voiceover.

The programme is in A-roll format, i.e. without a B-roll, and with numerous French soundbites in the A-roll. The script is on-line as of the end of today, as a PDF document as of 23 May.
