This programme focuses on one of Envisat’s new instruments, MERIS, which is a very sophisticated imaging spectrometer to study in particular marine physics and chemistry. One of its applications will be to study the effects of ballast water exchange on the ocean’s ecosystems, and to investigate the possibility to develop a global system to monitor illicit ballast water exchange.
The 5-minute A-roll contains split audio with an English guide track and is complemented by a B-roll with international sound only, and longer soundbites in clean international sound. The script is on-line as a PDF document under http://television.esa.int/photos/EbS23580.pdf
