Delta II & GPS: 20 Years of Launching Change Around the World
United Space Alliance released this video today to commemorate 20 years of the Delat II launching GPS satellites.
“On Aug. 17, 2009, a Delta II launch vehicle carrying a GPS satellite lifted off for the last time; delivering the 48th GPS satellite to orbit. The Delta II, which first launched on Feb. 14, 1989, was developed by the Air Force to launch GPS satellites and has gone on to become and industry workhorse. This video chronicles this important partnership that brought so much to our nation and the world.”
