Newsat America Joins The Satellite Industry Association

Washington, D.C. May 31, 2012 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce that NewSat America, Inc. has joined as a new member.

“SIA is pleased to welcome NewSat America, further strengthening SIA’s role as “Voice of the Satellite Industry,” SIA President, Patricia Cooper said. Diego Paldao, Senior Director Americas for NewSat America said “NewSat America is very excited about joining the SIA and contributing to its ongoing efforts in support of the satellite industry. We are honored to join such a distinguished group of companies and look forward to strengthening the existing partnerships and creating new ones.”

NewSat America is a U.S. subsidiary of Australian satellite communications provider NewSat Ltd. NewSat America supports U.S. customers, including the U.S. government and the DoD, and customers headquartered throughout the Americas. NewSat Ltd. currently operates a network of teleports in Australia accessing over 12 satellites in C- and Ku-band, with coverage to 75 percent of the world for voice, video and data services, including to the West coast of the United States. NewSat plans to expand its satellite capabilities with the Jabiru Satellite Program, beginning with the planned launch and operation of Ku band on Jabiru-2 in Q4 of 2013 and the Ka band Jabiru-1 satellite in Q4 2014.
