As Commander Bill Shepherd, Pilot Yuri Gidzenko and Flight Engineer Sergei Krikalev near the three-month mark of their mission aboard the International Space Station, the progress of their flight will be discussed at an Expedition One mission status briefing next week.

The media conference is scheduled at the Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX, for 4 p.m. EST, Friday, Jan. 12.

Expedition One Lead Flight Director Jeff Hanley will provide an update on the crew members’ activities over the past few weeks and a preview of their role in the activation of the U.S. Laboratory Destiny on the upcoming STS-98 mission. Destiny will be the cornerstone of American scientific research on the orbital outpost.

The status briefing comes one day after the STS-98 preflight briefings at the Johnson Space Center and will be broadcast live on NASA Television with multi-center question and answer capability from participating NASA centers.

NASA TV is available on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees West longitude, vertical polarization, with a frequency of 3880 MHz, and audio of 6.8 MHz.
