Soyuz TMA-6 Lifts off From Baikonur Cosmodrome

Launch of Soyuz TMA-6 (Soyuz 10S) carrying the ISS Expedition 11 crew of Sergei Krikalev and John Phillips and ESA astronaut Roberto Vittori occured on time this evening at 8:46 pm EDT. This is Krikalev’s sixth flight into space – while both Phillips and Vittori are both making their second trip.

Once in orbit the crew will conduct a test of the Kurs-A & Kurs-P at 9:34pm. The crew will then spend two days chasing the ISS.

On Saturday night at 9:42 pm, Soyuz TV activation will begin at a distance of 8 km from the ISS.

A fly around of the ISS will be conducted between 10:01-10:10 pm followed by Stationkeeping. Docking is planned to occur at 10:19 pm EDT.
