Tāwhaki Reaches for Space In New Zealand With Gov. Funds for Spaceport Runway
An Indigenous-led aerospace venture in New Zealand (Aotearoa) received government funding to support space and aerospace projects earlier this month (October 3).
Tāwhaki now has $5.4 million NZD ($3.4 million USD) in a grant from the Kānoa Regional Strategic Partnership Fund that will help build a 0.6-mile (1 kilometer) runway, as well as hangar facilities, at the Tāwhaki Aerospace Centre, located south of Christchurch.
