NOAA GOES SATOPS Morning Report 3 May 2001
SATOPS MORNING REPORT – May 3, 2001
On May 2, GOES operations were successfully transitioned
to the LCR in the New SOCC. The new GOES ops area is
currently being integrated and it is expected
that operations will be shifted by tomorrow, May 4. So far, no impacts
to data
have been observed.
GOES-2 de-orbit operations continue smoothly.
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.
NOAA-14 rev 32672 / F at 1910Z on May 2:
During this pass, command BCLLL OBP=C was executed to change all three
battery charge rates from trickle charge to low
rate charge (eclipse season related activity).
Today, NOAA-12 all three battery charge rates
will also be commanded from trickle charge to low rate charge (eclipse
season related activity).
The frame sync problems observed over the past
few days have been corrected via emergency software fix. No additional
problems observed.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
At 1301Z and 1500Z on May 2, GOES-10 image frame
breaks were observed and attributed to high BER at the CDA
(unknown source).
The third (of six) GOES-2 de-orbit maneuvers took
place on this morning at 0727Z. By all indications, the maneuver
was
nominal. Three additional maneuvers are
planned to complete the raising of the GOES-2 orbit 300 kilometers above
the
geosynchronous altitude (with a goal of fuel
depletion). The de-orbit maneuvers are being executed from the Kokee
Park
Geophysical Observatory station in Hawaii in
coordination with the SOCC.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24
hours.
