SATOPS MORNING REPORT – March 27, 2001
POES
No change in the status of the POES spacecraft; instrument configuration
change noted below.
NOAA-11 rev 64483 / F at 0920Z: It was noted that the SBUV grating
drive began operating in a limited range (between 247 and
380). Post pass analysis showed that the SBUV started operating
in this range at approximately 0243Z. Engineers were notified
and supported the next scheduled pass at 1446Z, were continued limited
operation was observed. Additional stepping (giant
stepping) profiles were attempted without success. A meeting
will occur with GSFC to discuss next actions.
POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
DMSP
No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.
DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
GOES
No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.
All eclipse operations nominal. No frame breaks noted.

This week, the spacecraft contractor, SS/L, is in town for a series
of COP reviews and launch sims. Today, the launch team is
reviewing all Contingency Operations Procedures (COPs) on a subsystem-by-subsystem
basis. The third GOES-M Launch Sim
kicks off tomorrow and will run through Friday. Mission phases
to be simulated include Launch, Apogee Motor Fire#1, Mag
Boom/Solar Array Deploy, and Dipole Estimation.
GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
