STS-98 Crew News Conference

The astronauts of the next mission to the ISS

Background information on the transmission:

The primary objective of shuttle mission STS-98 is to deliver and install the U.S. Destiny Laboratory onto the International Space Station. Also, the STS-98 astronauts will relocate Pressurized Mating Adapter 2 from the Unity Node to the forward Common Berthing Mechanism on Destiny. While at the station, the astronauts will conduct three space walks and use Space Shuttle Atlantisí robotic arm to complete these tasks.

The crew is made of Commander Kenneth Cockrell, Pilot Mark Polansky, and Mission Specialists Robert Curbeam, Marsha Ivins and Thomas Jones.

Space Shuttel Atlantis scheduled to lift off launch pad 39A at Cape Canaveral on Wednesday, 7 February at about 23:11 GMT, with a launch widnow of less than 5 minutes. Landing is scheduled on Sunday 18 February, at about 17:59 p.m. GMT.
