KSC LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Oct. 11, 2000 at 7:17 p.m. EDT

KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Oct. 22, 2000 at about 2:10 p.m.

MISSION DURATION: 10 days, 18 hours and 53 minutes

CREW: Duffy, Melroy, Wakata, Chiao, Wisoff, Lopez-Alegria, McArthur

ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 177 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing: Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off on time tonight from
Launch Pad 39A tonight marking the 100th Shuttle flight in history and the
continuance of International Space Station construction. The KSC launch team
worked no significant vehicle issues throughout the final hours of the
launch countdown. Weather conditions improved significantly in the hours
prior to liftoff supporting Discovery’s launch at the preferred time of 7:17
p.m.

The two solid rocket booster recovery ships, Freedom Star and Liberty Star,
deployed into the Atlantic Ocean Sunday, Oct. 8 at about 6:30 p.m. Depending
upon weather conditions during recovery operations, the ships are expected
to arrive at Hangar AF with both boosters in tow Friday morning.
