While Flight 132’s launcher spends its final hours on ELA-2 launch zone before liftoff, the Ariane 4 for Flight 133 is nearly complete in the ELA-2 preparation zone approximately 1 kilometer away.

The first, second and third stages of this Ariane 4 have been assembled, and the vehicle equipment bay was installed atop the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle’s two liquid strap-on boosters have been mated to the first stage.

As a result, the Flight 133 vehicle is ready for transfer once the launch zone opens up following the departure of Flight 132’s Ariane 4.

After arriving in the launch zone, Flight 133’s two solid strap-ons will be installed and the payload mated to the launcher – completing it for launch.

A number of payloads are now ready for Flight 133 and for several subsequent missions, which will employ a mix of Ariane 4s and Ariane 5s. Arianespace will be applying its "first in/first out" philosophy, allowing satellites to be considered for launch based on the order they are ready for flight at the Spaceport.

The Europe*Star FM1 satellite for Europe*Star is one of the next spacecraft in line, and this payload currently is undergoing checkout in the S1 satellite preparation building at the Spaceport.
