SATOPS MORNING REPORT – August 17, 2000

A complete SOCC power outage took place yesterday, August 16, to accommodate
power connections to the new SOCC computer room.  Command/control
coordination activities with the backup sites at WCDA and ESOC were successful.
No data was lost due to this event.  A sincere thanks to all involved.

GOES

No change in the status of the GOES spacecraft.

At 1237Z on Wednesday, August 16, a GOES-10 frame break was observed
and attributed to RFI at the CDA.

At 0602Z on Thursday, August 17, a GOES-10 frame break was observed
and attributed to address phasing error.

GOES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

POES

No change in the status of the POES spacecraft.

NOAA-14 rev 29014F – G1B noisy from spacecraft with 79% of the data
received.  Recorder management prevented replay from the spacecraft
on subsequent revs.

For a 24-hr period starting approximately 00:00Z today (Thursday, August
17), NOAA-15 will be utilizing  Stored AIP (vs. GAC) as the prime
data playback format.   Since SAIP data is not formatted by the
MIRP, engineers took advantage of this testing opportunity to re-enable
MIRP-AVHRR synchronization.  Early results of the AVHRR imagery look
promising.  Additional AVHRR testing is scheduled for today, with
the spacecraft returning to the MIRP internal synchronization by 2153Z.

POES operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.

DMSP

No change in the status of the DMSP spacecraft.

Solar array positioning software (SAPOS) testing will be performed today
on F15/OPS49.

DMSP operations were nominal over the past 24 hours.
