ROSES-2021 Amendment 12 releases for community comment draft text for E.10 Lunar Explorer Instrument for space biology Applications (LEIA), intended to be released in ROSES-2021, no earlier than May 15, 2021.

E.10 LEIA is intended to solicit ground-based proposals for an autonomous biological research experiment using yeast as a model organism to be integrated into the Biosensor hardware and tested for hardware biocompatibility. This is to establish a functional experimental payload that is flight ready. This opportunity is not meant to encompass the spaceflight, only to prepare the investigation for future flight opportunities.

Comments and questions concerning the draft of E.10 LEIA are due by May 7, 2021 to Sharmila Bhattacharya at spacebiology@nasaprs.com.

On or about April 23, 2021, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2021” (NNH21ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2021 and will appear on SARA’s ROSES blog at https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/grant-solicitations/roses-2021/
