NSPIRES Email Subscription Changes due to the BPS (formerly SLPSRA) Move to SMD from HEOMD
In 2020, NASA transferred administrative oversight of NASA’s biological and physical sciences research from the Space Life and Physical Sciences Research and Applications (SLPSRA) Division in the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEOMD) into the Science Mission Directorate (SMD). Part of this move include a name change to Biological and Physical Sciences (BPS).
As part of the recent move, NSPIRES has restructured its email subscription lists to better reflect the changes in NASA organization. Specifically, two new email lists were created under SMD for Space Biology and Physical Sciences. NSPIRES registrants who were formerly subscribed to the HEOMD General Subscription List (which included Space Biology, Physical Sciences, Fundamental Physics, Human Research Program [HRP], and Translational Research Institute for Space Health [TRISH] announcements) have automatically been subscribed to these two new SMD lists as well as retaining subscription to the HEOMD General Subscription List (which now includes only HRP and TRISH announcements). As per standing SMD policy, subscription to any list under SMD will include announcements regarding NSPIRES releases from every division of SMD and any directorate-wide announcements.
If you wish to unsubscribe from an NSPIRES listserv, please log into NSPIRES and click on “Email Subscriptions” under “Account Management”. Then you may check/uncheck the lists you would like to be subscribed to. Click “Save” to save your settings.
