Space Foundation: Thank You to Our Space Across the Curriculum Scholarship Donors
Today, 26 teachers from 16 U.S.states completed professional development training at the Space Foundation Discovery Center in Colorado Springs. All of the teachers received scholarships to attend, thanks to the generosity of two donors.
During the four-day program, the teachers learned hands-on activities to use in their classrooms to reinforce learning in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The subject matter was space-based, such as for lessons in aerodynamic concepts, project management, basic engineering principles, coding, programming, robotics, geological evidence from satellite images and biological effects on humans in space.
Through its education programs, the Space Foundation is building the next generation of space leaders and STEM professionals through teacher, student and community programs that use space themes to improve students’ interest and skills in STEM subjects.
