Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services to Launch Mexico’s Morelos-3 Satellite Oct. 2
Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] Commercial Launch Services is set to launch Mexico’s newest communications satellite, Morelos-3, aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket on Oct. 2, 2015.
Rocket/Payload: Atlas V 421 flying the Morelos-3 satellite for Mexico’s Ministry of Communications and Transportation under its Mexsat program.

Launch Time: The launch window opens at 6:08 a.m. EDT and closes at 6:28 a.m.
Mission Description: The Atlas V 421 rocket will deliver the Morelos-3 satellite to a geosynchronous transfer orbit. Morelos-3 will be the second of two communications satellites that comprise the Mexsat communications satellite system. Mexsat is a constellation of satellites that delivers advanced telecommunications throughout Mexico and is owned by Mexico’s Ministry of Communications and Transportation and operated by Telecommunications of Mexico. The Mexsat program provides communications to rural zones as a complement to other networks and will also provide secure communications for Mexico’s national security needs.
