Description
This notice is issued by the NASA/JSC to post a Request for Information (RFI) via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition.
NASA desires to conduct scientific investigations in facilities that provide extended periods of isolation and confinement for a minimum of four subjects participating in the simulated space mission studies. The purpose of these investigations is to better understand the factors that are likely to be present in long duration exploration space missions, and may include studies involving behavioral health and performance, human factors, medical, physiological, and habitability concerns. Potential durations for such missions may range from 2 weeks to 12 months.
Prospective offerors are invited to submit written comments or questions to: Richard Delgado (richard.d.delgado@nasa.gov) and Lisa Spence (elizabeth.a.spence@nasa.gov) , no later than August 31, 2015. When responding, reference NNJ15ZBH008L – ISOLATION FACILITY FOR SCIENTIFIC STUDIES.
In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government is under no obligation to issue a solicitation or to award any contract on the basis of this RFI. The Government will not pay for any information solicited under this RFI. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of a solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors’ responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation.
