NASA ISS On-Orbit Status 28 May 2013

International Space Station (ISS) Management Center (IMC) Daily Summary Report
Increment 36 Operations – Stage 36-3
05/28/13 11:25 pm Central Daylight Time (CDT)
149/4:25 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

There will not be an ISS IMC Daily Summary Report sent on Wednesday, May 29 due to the crew sleep shift day. ISS IMC Daily Summary Reports will resume on Thursday, May 30.

New Status: Multi-Purpose Small Payload Rack (MSPR) Combustion Chamber (CC) Setup: FE-3 Cassidy configured and installed the MSPR CC in preparation for the Combustion Chamber gas leak check scheduled for Thursday, May 30. Cassidy deployed and installed the chamber onto the MSPR workbench and then installed the chamber in the MSPR work volume. The leak check is comprised of three tests – Nitrogen gas (GN2) supply line leak check, CC leak check with negative pressure, and CC leak check with positive pressure. The GN2 and negative pressure leak checks are scheduled for Thursday, May 30.

35 Soyuz (35S) Launch and Docking: Following their morning work, ISS Commander (CDR) Vinogradov, Flight Engineer (FE)-2 Misurkin, and Cassidy were scheduled for a four-hour nap in advance of the docking of 35S. FE-4 Yurchikhin, FE-5 Parmitano, and FE-6 Nyberg launched on 35S from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 3:31 pm CDT. 35S proceeded through a nominal four-orbit rendezvous and docked to the MRM1 docking port at 9:10 pm CDT, returning the ISS to a full 6-crew complement. Following docking and hatch opening, the entire crew participated in a welcome ceremony and a safety briefing.
