Description

The next quarterly meeting of the Stennis Business Consortium (SBC) will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in the auditorium of building 1200 at Stennis Space Center beginning at 1:00pm.

The mission of the SBC is to provide a mechanism for federal agencies, local institutions, and businesses to exchange information on small business goals, needed and emerging technologies, upcoming procurement requirements and opportunities, and issues dealing with existing procurement regulations. This is accomplished through quarterly meetings where specific information is exchanged based on funding cycles, forecasts of small business needs, as well as inquiries from small businesses.

This meeting will highlight the Louisiana-based organizations that provide resources to small businesses including the following:

*Louisiana Economic Development (LED)
*Louisiana Technology Council (LTC)
*Louisiana Business and Technology Center (LBTC)/Louisiana Technology Transfer Office (LTTO)
*Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (LA-PTAC)
*Louisiana Department for Veterans Affairs
*Louisiana Workforce Commission
*Small Business Administration (SBA)
*St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF)

Representatives from Louisiana and counterpart agencies from Mississippi will be available for informal matchmaking following the meeting in Millennium Hall, Building 1200.

On the following day, November 28, the Mississippi Enterprise for Technology (MSET) will host the Annual Supplier and Service Provider Showcase from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the atrium of Building 1100. The Showcase will feature table-top exhibits from companies that supply products or provide business services to all types of organizations. Expected are local suppliers of accounting, legal, financial, and other business-related services; business insurance providers; vendors of office supplies, furniture, IT hardware and packaged software; staffing agencies; training and workshop providers; and others.

There is no fee to attend either event. Register at: www.mset.org on the left side, click on Calendar, then click on the dates Nov 27 and/or 28.
