NASA Wallops Rocket Launch Postponed – New Date TBD
WALLOPS ISLAND, VA – NASA has postponed the launch of a Terrier-Improved Malemute suborbital sounding rocket scheduled this morning from the agency’s launch range at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
Based on the weather forecast, the NASA officials have decided not to attempt a launch tomorrow, Saturday, August 25. A new launch date is to be determined.
The rocket launch, carrying experiments developed by university students, was postponed because of boats in the avoidance area in the Atlantic Ocean off the Wallops Island coast.
The next launch currently scheduled from Wallops Island is a test flight of a NASA Talos-Terrier-Oriole suborbital sounding rocket between 7 and 10 a.m., September 5.
