Video: NASA Morpheus ALHAT Hazard Detection System – Tether Test 17
A close-up video of the ALHAT Hazard Detection System (HDS) operating onboard Morpheus during Tether Test 17. The HDS performs target tracking during the initial portion of the flight, followed by a mosaic scan of the ground to assemble a surface digital elevation map. This map will be used during future Morpheus free flight tests at Kennedy Space Center to determine safe landing locations for the vehicle within a lunar-like terrain field with hazardous rocks and craters.
