Description

NASA/JSC has a requirement for a one year membership in the National Science Foundation (NFS) Center for Friction Stir Processing (CFSP).

NASA/JSC intends to purchase the membership from the University of North Texas. The NFS Center for Friction Stir Processing is a collaborative center between various university, industry, and government partners. Each university in the center has a specific area of specialty to meet the needs of the various industrial partners. The University of North Texas has the capabilities that are unique to the needs of NASA JSC. There is no other collaborative center like it in the area of friction stir welding and processing.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on September 6, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.

All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
