Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Ames Research Center (ARC) is releasing a Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) for The Silicon Valley Earth Science Cooperative Agreement (SiVESC). ARC and the Recipient will collaborate to further NASA’s objectives in Earth science, including improved observations and measurements, as well as data analysis and informtion product generation.

Under this agreement, ARC and Recipient will cooperatively carry out experimental, analytical, and theoretical research in support of NASA’s strategic earth science objectives relating to:

* Fundamental science questions on all aspects of the Earth system: the atmosphere, the biosphere, the oceans, and the solid Earth.

* Information and computational sciences addressing the unique needs of data systems and analysis, visualization, and interpretation of Earth science data.

* The technology that is required to meet the scientific challenges of the Earth sciences in an efficient and affordable manner.

* Education and public outreach of Earth science activities to the general community.

Participation is open to domestic institutions of higher education and non-profit organizations. Electronically submitted Notices of Intent (NOI) to propose should be submitted by May 13, 2011.

The proposal due date is June 15, 2011. The electronic submission of each proposal’s Cover Page/Proposal Summary/Budget Summary is required by the due date for proposal submission.

This solicitation leading to the award of a Cooperative Agreement is issued pursuant to title 14 CFR Part 1260 for educational and nonprofit institutions.

Notwithstanding the posting of this opportunity at FedBizOpps.gov, Grants.gov, or at both sites, NASA reserves the right to determine the appropriate award instrument for each proposal selected pursuant to this announcement.
