Background information on the transmission:
After a hugely successful 14-day mission that has seen the attachment to ISS and commissioning of the Columbus European laboratory, space shuttle Atlantis returns to Earth tomorrow. European astronaut Hans Schlegel returns on Atlantis, while Leyopold Eyharts remains on the ISS as part of the Expedition 16 crew.
The schedule for landing is as follows:
- 12:45 GMT – ESA relay of NASA TV commences
- 12:59 GMT – De-orbit burn for 1st landing opportunity at KSC
- 13:54 GMT – KSC radar acquisition of Atlantis
- 14:07 GMT – Atlantis lands
- 14:30 GMT end of transmission
