Description

NASA/GRC has a requirement for a Manufacturing Feasibility Study of Polymer Crosslinked Aerogels (X-Aerogels). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the study from Aspen Aerogels, Inc. This study will require a cadre of expertise/facilities in aerogel blanket manufacturing, sol-gel processes and know-how of polymer cross-linking available only through a collaborative partnership between GRC and Aspen Aerogels. In addition, aerogel blanket manufacturing technology is the intellectual property of Aspen Aerogels.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 noon local time on 02/28/07. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
