Background information on the transmission:
Launched in September 2003, Europe’s first lunar probe Smart-1 has been a rewarding mission. In the early morning of 3 September this year (at 05:41 GMT, the mission will end its exploration adventure through a small impact on the lunar surface.
Today’s Programme provides a review of the scientific and technological achievements of Smart-1, plus new 3-D graphics on the planned end-of mission through a controlled impact on the Moon.

Please note that this transmission is on Eutelsat W2 and NOT on Europe by Satellite. There will be replays of the Programme on 29 August and 2 September on EbS.
