Background information on the transmission:
On 6 July 2006, German ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter joined the permanent ISS Expedition 13 Crew.
ESA-TV provides weekly ISS-Astrolab Highlights featuring the best images from the daily ISS Mission Commentary received during the preceding week, plus images from in-flight calls and satellite interviews.
This week’s highlights focus on the tasks Reiter performed whilst the Shuttle Discovery was still docked to the ISS, on his in-flight call with German chancellor Merkel, and on the putting into service of Melfi, the ESA-built sample freezer for the ISS.
