The migration patterns of birds have intrigued researchers well before the spread of bird flu started to pose a threat to agriculture and possibly public health in Europe. Small satellite transmitters are used to follow the movements of bigger birds, and to find out more about their habits with the changing seasons.
Today’s transmission has been recorded in mountains and forests in Switzerland and France, and shows the use of these transmitters by ornothologists.
